Position Overview: The Food Program Driver is responsible for the delivery of meals and items related to meals to the Cross Cultural Family Center child development centers. The Driver provides daily delivery of a freshly prepared lunch, and food items for afternoon snack and next day breakfast. In addition, the drive is responsible to assist with food purchase when needed and food program supplies. The Facilities Maintenance Associate makes minor repairs to classroom equipment and assists with the upkeep of outdoor spaces at the centers. Location: Central Office and the CCFC Centers Reports to: Director of Children’s Programs Food Program Driver Responsibilities 1. Deliver meals and meal services items to the CCFC Child Care Centers on a daily basis. 2. Complies with safe and healthy food handling procedures. 3. Assist head cook with preparation for deliveries, ie: packing food into containers, loading vehicle and unloading at the centers 4. Maintain the food program vehicle, keep it clean and ensure the healthful environment 5. Deliver classroom supplies on regular basis and transport learning materials and equipment when needed Facilities Maintenance Responsibilities 1. Fix broken and repairable classroom and outdoor equipment 2. Maintain the entry spaces into the centers, ensuring they are clean and well kept. 3. Assist Site Supervisors with maintenance of outdoor learning space, ensuring that grounds are well kept and that the outdoor learning space is safe for children’s play General Responsibilities 1. Maintain required records of work jobs and transportation records 2. Maintain a professional attitude, by working cooperatively with staff 3. Other job related activities that may be requested Qualifications 1. Must hold a current valid California Driver’s License and have a driving record free of any moving violations within the past three years 2. Knowledge of food safety practices and transportation protocols 3. Ability to maintain delivery schedule 4. Good oral and written communication skills and basic math skills 5. Must be able to left and carry a minimum of 75 pounds throughout the day 6. Work experience with handy-person type jobs, repairs and facilities maintenance 7. Experience with school program prepared food transportation, a plus 8. Outdoor maintenance upkeep experience, a plus 9. Use of personal vehicle may be requested from time to time Starting salary $28.00 per hour Benefits include paid vacation, sick days, health plan options, and retirement benefits.
