Press release from the City of Glendora: January 05, 2021 BARRANCA AVE. AT RAILROAD CROSSING CLOSURE EXTENDED THRU JANUARY 25, 2021 DOWNLOAD THE FULL GOLD LINE NOTICE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY Crews will continue reconstructing the railroad crossing on Barranca Ave. (Glendora), as part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project. This work requires the extension of the closure to continue performing underground utility work, median construction, new track installation, roadway paving, and new curb & gutter. WHEN Underway and now continuing thru Monday, January 25th, Barranca Ave. will be fully closed to all traffic (vehicular and pedestrian) at the railroad crossing 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Bennett Ave (just north of the crossing) and Foothill Blvd. (south of the crossing) will remain open and accessible by way of detour routes. Crews plan to work daily 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday thru Saturday. NOTE: Occasional longer working hours may be needed. City approved working hours: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM, 7 days a week, which is consistent with the City's municipal code. TRAFFIC ADVISORIES Barranca Ave. will be fully closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the railroad crossing.Access to homes on Barranca Ave., within the closure area north and south of the railroad crossing, will be maintained at all times, including access to Elderberry Dr., Devon Ct., and Dalton St.PLAN YOUR ROUTE AND BE PREPARED A detour route (see map below) will be in place during the closure and signage will be posted to direct motorists and pedestrians. Please follow detour signs.Barranca Ave. will be fully closed to all traffic at the railroad crossing between Bennett Ave. and Foothill Blvd.Bennett Ave. (eastbound and westbound) will remain open to all traffic.Foothill Blvd. (eastbound and westbound) will remain open to all traffic.Grand Ave. (northbound and southbound) will serve as the main detour route.
