Grab your friends, family, and pets and head to the Carmichael Park on October 23, 2022 for Carmichael's First Annual Barktober Festival! Carmichael's Barktober Festival is the new must-attend pet friendly event. This fur-friend inspired fall festival will be held at Carmichael Park, complete with doggy-and-me activities like Doggy and Me Line Dancing class courtesy of Arthur Murray and Musical Sit, demonstrations like an obedience class by All Stage Canine Development and Grooming demo by Sunflower Pet Salon, a pet costume contest, local pet-friendly business vendor booths, live music by Brotherly Mud, pumpkin patch, car show, food trucks, pet adoptions by local rescues, and more! With hundreds of local residents and their pets expected in attendance, media coverage, and so many cute fur-friends, this is the place to be! And let's not forget Carmichael Park is home to a great dog park to run around during the event as well, a portion of all proceeds will benefit Carmichael Dog Park directly. Attendance is FREE! Well-behaved, vaccinated, leashed fur-friends are welcome and encouraged to attend! PET COSTUME CONTEST: We will be having a panel of wonderful judges vote on who has the best costumes! Here are the categories with awards for each category: Best overall, Best duo(adult owners and their pet in coordinating costumes), Best Junior Duo (kid owners and their pet in coordnating costumes), Most unique, Best Showmanship (lets see those tricks in costume), Best non-dog Pet costume (lizards, snakes, cats, birds, etc etc), Tiny but Mighty (small breed/puppy category). Vendors: We are looking for local pet-friendly businesses to apply for vendor space; here are some examples: Veterinarians, Pet Retail, Pet-friendly Restaurants, Pet groomers, Pet walkers/pet-sitting services, Pet supplies, Pet-specialty artists like tattoo artists, painters, photographers, pet-boarding facilities, trainers, local rescues, and more!
