Hi. I am curious. Has anyone else that refused a smart meter (electric meter) to be placed on your home experienced a sudden huge bill. My meter suddenly jumped ahead, and they say I owe what would be a couple months of usage.
I have monitored the energy use of every appliance, and they are using the same amount they have always used. My daily usage is what has always been also. I might understand if the meter was not read for a couple months, but even that does not account for such a jump in the reading. And, they say that all the readings are actual readings.
The only explanation I can conclude is that the company tampered with my (their) meter and moved it foreword.
Apparently I have no recourse to fight this, as Alabama does not have a regulatory authority I am filing a complaint with the Alabama Attorney Generals office. And I want to find if this is happening to anyone else.
