My response to your post from 10/16/22 There are so many people that are struggling to make ends meet from one paycheck to another. There are many people that are not able to make ends meet and fear eviction each day, week or month especially this time of the year because of cold weather. People fear the thought of being kicked out to the streets with no where to turn. What happens to the children that are displaced along with their parents? Where or how would you begin a new life from scratch? Many have to seek assistance from their older maybe even retired parents. Some people don’t have families to turn to. This economy has been the worst I’ve witnessed since the 1980’s. In the 80’s if you were lucky enough to have a steady job no matter if it was a crappy job, you would keep it because jobs were scarce. Do you realize that the majority of folks that live on the street have no other choice but to scrape up enough each day to survive all because they can’t get a real job due to not having proper IDENTIFICATION ? Have you ever tried to help a homeless person try to get a legal ID ? I have and it’s near impossible because you have to have an ID to apply for an ID ! Now how much sense does that make. Our governments, be it City, State, or Country do not make it at all easy to jump through all the hoops that it takes to get said ID. It’s like trying to break through a brick wall bare handed. Once upon a time marijuana was ilegal and the only monies the government made from 420 was money from raids and seizure. Hear me out and tell me if this a bad idea! Now that pot is legal in this and other states. HUGE unknown billions of dollars have been made and you can bet the USA gov is raking in the profits. This is new tax money I’m talking about. Never had that prior to legalizing Marijuana right ? Well why doesn’t the gov share some of those billions of dollars to help improve our country to help the people that live in it ? Basic shelter, a place to call home for families and singles as well. How about easier to apply and get an ID so that people can apply for a job. Just think if you have a job most often you can afford groceries. If someone can’t afford to buy groceries then find a source that will donate food to those in true need. I think if we could heal the disparity we are experiencing to date here in the USA PEOPLE might actually be nicer to one another.
