Anybody make lathe cut records?

This is a shot in the dark, but I want to learn how to make lathe cut records as I save up to buy a machine of my own. I work in audio for a living but I know that learning this dark art will be impossible without some help from another. Anybody know someone with a machine who'd be willing to show me some things? Can pay for your time/expertise, and will travel anywhere in greater Chicagoland or beyond in the Midwest. — Cody
