Old school Prog / Jazz / Metal / World guitarist seeking solid trio

I'm a guitarist into writing off-the-beaten-path music. I'm interested in creating distinctive music with unexpected beats / rhythms, varied time signatures, etc. but with undeniable backbone and guts. I like chunky riffs but I'm also open to more ethereal stuff. I dig many types of music including old school Prog, Metal, Jazz, World (Afrobeat, Malian music, traditional & current Middle Eastern, Thai, etc), New Wave, and so on. I'm vaxxed, have reliable transportation, interesting gear, etc. Just to put it out there, I have precisely zero time for the MAGA crowd. I'm really motivated to get a solid project going, practice til (near) perfect, and playing mighty shows. I potentially have a low-key practice spot but I'm also cool with throwing in on renting practice space / time. I'm in Providence but don't mind an hour +/- drive for the right musicians.
