Rehoming Fees?

Help me understand. Why do folks not list the rehoming fee? I get pets can not be -For Sale-but CL does allow adoption or rehoming fees. So why not put price information in your ads? Recently had a pet owner get upset when after I inquired about cost and realized that pet was way out of my price range, I had to decline. They then proceeded to berate me for bothering them and wasting their time if I was not serious about their pet. Well, I was serious and it would have saved both of us time if price was listed in ad. If I had advanced knowledge of cost, I would never have "bothered" them. So, why are prices not listed?
