Description
When is the last time you got a side of cotton candy with your cocktail? Paired a clown nose with your cuff links? Well, this is the night! Join Safe Voices for our annual Fall Mixer & Awards Ceremony, featuring a carnival theme for 2022! Cotton candy, popcorn, a party photo booth, and even a strolling magician — if you've been looking for an excuse to dress up and have a ball, this is your chance. Please join us for an event that will allow us to honor stalwart supporters of this work as well as raise money for Safe Voices' continued advocacy, support, and services for survivors. The evening will include a silent auction and awards ceremony, as well as drinks & light appetizers. New this year! You'll notice that our event this year has a sliding scale ticket price. As part of our efforts to build equity awareness into all parts of our work, it is important for us as an organization to recognize that our valued community members come to events like this with varying resources, and the "true cost" ticket price might be out of budget for some of our friends and neighbors. For that reason, we're using "The Purple Bottle" guide for our sliding scale tickets this year. This model is adapted from The Green Bottle model created by Alexis J. Cunningfolk in 2015, and it allows you to place yourself on the sliding scale by considering a few simple questions, found here. $75: This price represents the true cost, including staff time, of creating this event. It is the cost we would charge all attendees if we did not have a sliding scale. If you are able to pay for "wants" in your life and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, this price is for you. Additionally, if you work for a local business and the business is paying for your ticket, this is the price we recommend. $50: This price represents the material cost (without staff time), of creating this event. If you have access to steady income and are not overly stressed about meeting basic needs, but you are struggling to conquer debt, build savings, or move away from paycheck-to-paycheck living, this is the level for you. If your employer is paying for your ticket and is a nonprofit with a budget of $1M or less, this is the price we recommend. $25: This price represents an honest acknowledgment that there are people whose economic circumstances would prevent them from attending if there was not a deliberate opportunity made for them to access it at a cost that is reflective of their economic realities. If you struggle to maintain access to needs such as health care, housing, food, child care, and are living paycheck to paycheck, you deserve a community that honors your price as equal to the economic offering of a person who can pay the highest tier.
