Meet the artists and enjoy refreshments at our opening night gallery on Saturday, November 5th! Precision Camera will be hosting a Gallery and Opening Reception at their Anderson Ln. location in North Austin on November 5th from 4 to 6pm. The gallery will feature photography from four amazing local photographers: Lauren Withrow (b. 1993) was raised in a small farming town in Texas. This landscape in which she grew up in, inspired her focus on interpersonal relationships and the struggles of emotional connections. She currently lives in Los Angeles, CA and is available worldwide. She specializes in bringing fun, whimsical colors to everyday life. When she’s not snapping away at the camera, she’s a UX Designer full time and pursues other traditional art mediums. Her compositions are greatly influenced by her background in traditional oil painting, and some of her biggest inspirations include Wes Anderson films and the creative energy of those she works with. His goal is to capture and post-process his images to evoke the same emotions as he had visiting each location. WEBSITE: shaneware.smugmug.com Instagram: @shanewarephoto Matt Lankes, a seventh-generation Texan, grew up in Austin playing soccer and watching his father take pictures for the Austin American-Statesman. "I grew up around the camera," says Lankes who has made his living through photography since attending St. Edward’s University, specializing in portraits of people in their environments. "I try to get to the core of the person," says Lankes, who likes to spend time with his subject. "I try to make a portrait that shows who a person really is. I think that one thing that runs through most of my pictures is that the subjects are not posing; they are relaxed, and not putting on a face." In his spare time, Lankes still loves to play soccer and travel the world. Lankes currently has his work in the permanent collection of The National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian and at The Wittliff Collections at Texas State University.
