Holy crap is it hard to meet friends after a certain point in your life. Early 40s guitarist with a career and young family looking for low-commitment, low-skill musicians for friendships and to jam with once or twice a month, preferably on the west side of the metro area. I could be willing to travel a little bit for the right situation, though. I’ve been playing guitar for about 25 years, and although I would say I’m pretty rudimentary in my understanding of music theory, I have great feel and musical sensibility. Although I won’t be breaking out into any Van Halen solos, I do have the ability to learn just about anything you can put in front of me. I also have all my own equipment - fender electric guitar and tube amp, pedals, nice acoustic, and even a couple mics if need be. I have the ability to record at home if that’s something you’d be interested in experimenting with at some point. I’m rusty because music has taken a back seat to life, but it’s still something I like to do, so I’d love to get together with other musicians who are in a similar boat. Maybe you played in a band 15 years ago but left things to collect dust, but now you’re getting back into. Perfect. Or maybe you just weren’t that great to begin with. I really don’t care. I’d really just like to make some friends with similar interests and would like to keep it local. I don’t even really care what kind of music, except I’m not a metal player. Pretty much anything else would work.
