We can’t believe it’s been a year since our Afghan journalist friend and his family escaped the clutches of the Taliban. Their harrowing journey from Afghanistan to Pittsburgh has inspired so many, and prompted the creation of a charitable effort we call Team Zubair, named for our friend. So far, Team Zubair has raised more than $100,000 and helped families with rent assistance, car down payment grants, and more. For all this, we think a party is in order. Join us at Atithi Studios in Sharpsburg to celebrate, raise money for Team Zubair, and meet some of the people behind this ongoing effort. And while doing that, enjoy delicious appetizers by Sprezzatura Catering + Café, a renowned, woman-owned community cafe and catering kitchen in Millvale. So come eat, drink, and celebrate with us.
