Description
Two spaces available in a small community of potters and artists. We are set up with electric and gas ceramic kilns so are uniquely suited to small production ceramic artists, but we’re happy to have almost any sort of makers/artists. Exceptions include those needing large/loud/specialized equipment or using noxious fumes. There will be about 6 of us total; currently two potters, one painter/potter, and one graphic designer/potter. All are fairly serious about our crafts, and enjoy a friendly, professional, peaceful space to pursue them. We exist within a greater artisans community in West Oakland. Note: No live/work allowed.
The spaces available are:
175 sq. ft for $550/month and 200 sq. ft for $650/month. Both are in a small warehouse/shop consisting of 3 total spaces (other makers are in adjacent rooms/buildings). Good natural lighting plus good new overhead lighting, freshly painted walls and floors. Shared spaces include restroom, kitchenette, glaze room, and charming outdoor eating area. Rent includes utilities and wifi, though kiln use and heavy power usage are extra.
Pets discouraged, but possible exceptions for those who are non-disruptive and would get along with our resident (rambunctious) husky.
Gated parking space available for an additional $125/month. Street parking hasn't been a problem for people.
Utilities included, though kiln usage is extra.
If interested let us know a bit about you and what sort of work you make. We’re more interested in finding well-fitting personalities than any particular sort of maker, but would love to see examples of work as well.
