Is Your Rent Past Due? Are You Facing an Eviction?
The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) now offers rent and utility assistance to eligible Arizona renters impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible households may receive up to $3,500 per month in combined rent and utility assistance for a maximum of 18 months or a total of $63,000 in benefits paid.
Eligibility for rent and utility assistance is based on the renter’s address and ability to meet the following federal criteria:
• The renter has a risk of homelessness, housing instability, or unsafe living conditions demonstrated by the following:
o Eviction notice
o Utility shutoff notice
o Past due rent notice
o Past due utility notice
o Any other evidence of unsafe or unhealthy living conditions or housing instability
• The renter or member of the renter’s household has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic
Help for Homeowners
Need Mortgage Assistance?
There are hardship programs in place to help homeowners who have been directly or indirectly affected by the coronavirus and are struggling to make their mortgage payments.
Homeowners impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may receive up to $3,500 per month in mortgage and utility assistance. The Homeowner's Assistance Fund (HAF) is available statewide and provides Arizona homeowners with mortgage and utility assistance. $25,000 Lifetime amount, up to $3,500 per month.
Appeals
If you have been denied rent or utility assistance, you can appeal the action. This can be done by completing and submitting the Appeal Request within 60 calendar days from the date of the decision.
