Description
I am fostering and looking for homes for two lab mixes that showed up in my yard a couple weeks ago! They do NOT have to be rehomed together (probably will be easier to train separate).
Abbie (female) and Ransom (male) are about one years old (at least 6 months), littermates, and sweet as can be. They were not doing okay when I found them. Ransom was not using his back legs at all and the vet told me he had probably been hurt as a puppy and was paralyzed on his back end. Then both dogs were diagnosed with parvo and were in the animal hospital for a few days. Thankfully, they are all better and as ransom has healed he has actually started using his back legs! It turns out it was an unusual reaction to Parvo. He is still gaining back mobility but he is getting there.
Abbie is sweet, smart, really responsive, mostly housebroken, obedient, about 30lbs, and is already learning how to walk on a leash well. She is gentle with kids, doesn’t seem at all aggressive, and despite being a hyper young dog who has definitely never had obedience training is learning so good!
Ransom is spunky, bold, loves affection and snuggles, about 40lbs, and is always on the lookout for food! He is a little slower to learn than his sister, but he is getting there. He is a happy go lucky boy who doesn’t seem at all traumatized by what he has been through. Ransom is also really sweet with kids, mostly untested with dogs, and will definitely bark at strangers before remembering that he loves everyone.
These dogs do not act like they’ve been abused or traumatized. My best guess is that they were dumped after Ransom’s legs went out and the owner didn’t have the means to take care of them. They are such good pups and deserve a good home! I am working on getting them all their shots and getting them spayed/neutered this week. If you are interested, please let me know!
