Nortec Communications Inc. (www.NortecCommunications.com), an established Burnsville telecommunications integrator since 1998, has an immediate opening for a Full Time Level I Field Service Technician (Burnsville) to assist in the installation and service of business voice communications solutions primarily in the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area. Compensation: Depending on qualifications Responsibilities Include: Working directly with clients to configure, install, and service Avaya voice solutions. Performing MAC work for installed base Set up of voice a data networks (cabling, switches, routers, etc.) Provide remote and on-site support for installed products. Over 99% of work is indoors. Desired Skills: • Ability to install and maintain communications systems and structured wiring (copper & fiber) • Understanding of or hands-on knowledge of material and labor components to install an integrated communications systems. • PLT license, formal low voltage training, and/or a two year technical degree in telecommunications or equivalent field experience. • Team oriented, positive attitude and appearance, professional demeanor. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with a variety of personnel at various levels and develop professional relationships. • Strong PC and data networking skills • Excellent troubleshooting skills • Strong time management and priority-management skills. • Applicant should have ongoing continuing education training to demonstrate advanced skills and industry commitment. • Must have clean driving record • Non-smoking environment • Experience with Avaya IP Office, Nortel products preferred but not necessary Willing to train the right candidate.
