I have an 18 month old MI-KI dog weighing 5 pounds. She has very small bones. She managed to break her front leg September 2021 by slipping on our hardwood floor. Our regular vet set it and it was splinted for 3 months. Looked great last winter. However, over the last few months her leg has started to bow outward and she has started to favor it. I know she needs an orthopedic specialist. I could take her to Columbia, MO for treatment but with gas so high I would really prefer she be treated locally. Also, at her annual checkup this summer, her current vet advised me she had a partially moving kneecap on her back leg and wanted to do surgery but I want a second opinion before making a decision. Can anyone refer me to a local-ish vet with orthopedic experience? THANK YOU?
