My name is Erica L., I’m a second-year Dental Hygiene student at Plaza College which is located at 118-33 Queens Blvd in Forest Hills, Queens. The cleaning is free and I have a few weekdays you can pick from: Monday 12:30p-3:30p, Wednesday 8a-11:30p, and Friday 12:30p- 3:30p. The appointments are around 3 hours in duration. The cleaning is done in our school’s dental clinic, we can treat any age patient from as young as 2 years old to edentulous patients with dentures. How does it work? The visit is broken up into 2 appointments 1st Appointment is a “consultation”, during this appointment, I will take your vitals, review your medical history, perform an oral cancer screening, periodontal probing, and gingival assessments, review home oral hygiene care, and we will make a custom plan to clean your teeth according to your oral health needs. 2nd Appointment is the cleaning, this visit MUST be completed after the consultation. During this appointment, I will clean and polish your teeth, perform a “deep cleaning” such as scaling and root planning if necessary, and apply fluoride or sealants if needed.
