Learn more about the home of Akron and Summit County's founding family on a visit to the Perkins Stone Mansion and then discover the role of the community's most consequential resident for most of his life, John Brown. Visit the house that the Brown family rented from 1844 - 1854 when John Brown was the shepherd of a flock of 1300-1500 Merino Saxony sheep here on Mutton Hill. Guided tours are available of the first floor of both homes.
