“A Church In Crisis” - Addressing Mental Health in the Church

The church is supposed to be a hospital where the sick and the broken should be able to come in and get help, but how many times are people met with stigma and shamed because they weren’t the picture perfect Christian? Mental illness is a growing epidemic in the country and many churches are not appropriately prepared or trained to support during a person experiencing a mental health crisis. This discussion will include those who have various experiences in the church, as well as an ordained minister and mental health professional. Of A Sound Mind Inc is a non profit organization who’s mission is to normalize these discussions in attempt to destigmatize mental health and mental illness. We will also include a Q&A/ open discussion and provide resources to take home during this event. Refreshments will be provided as well! Hoping to see you there!
