Description

Did you know African American women are nearly twice as likely as white women to be diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, which is more aggressive and harder to treat than other subtypes of breast cancer? African Americans are more than twice as likely as whites to be diagnosed with and die from multiple myeloma. Did you know? African American women in the U.S. have a 41% higher death rate from breast cancer than white women. ALRI’s Sister to Sister Walk’s goal is to recognize the strength of survivors, their families, and friends, increase awareness among women and encourage early screening for protection. GOOD NEWS! We encourage everyone to celebrate and break out those pink wigs for the best-dressed Walker! Everyone that registers will receive the Official Sister to Sister Breast Cancer Awareness T-Shirt, the Sister to Sister Ultimate bag, the Official participant walk number, and all the great sponsor giveaways! Did I mention lunch is on us?
