Opening Ceremony: 8pm Music: 9-2am The Nevada City Witches’ Ball We invite you to a night of music, magic, and ritual to celebrate the Halloween season, a time when the witches of old would commune with the ancestors and the spirits of those who have passed to the Otherside. This is a night of celebration where we will honor and make offerings to the spirits of this land, those beloved dead of our familial lineage, and the friends we have said goodbye to since the Dark Moon in Scorpio last year. And what better offerings to make than those of our love, joy, and ecstatic celebration of life! The Witches’ Ball will host a variety of performers, oracles, potion brewers, and actual witches to open your (third) eyes to present a sneak peek into the mystical and magical workings of those whom are well acquainted with the true mystical origins of this season. The Witches’ Ball will offer: specialty potions (cocktails) made with fresh local ingredients tarot and other divination readers to offer guidance and inspiration for your life altars and rituals to bring beauty, love, and abundance and world class musical acts to dance into the deep, dark night together! You are invited to adorn yourself in your sexiest, swankiest, spookiest costumes, as there will be a costume contest which you won’t want to miss. Witches, vampires, ghosts and ghouls, and all creatures of the night will be honored and revered in this space! Join us, for the first event of its kind in Nevada City, where we will party, play, and pray like the witches of old have done for thousands of years! Blessed be, and welcome! Felipe Torquato aka Spaniol is the creator and resident of the Colectivo Sonido Trópico of São Paulo with whom he created transcendental parties in the city center. At 7 years old he chose a path of music and to never stray. At the age of 9 entered the São Paulo Conservatory, where he studied Classic guitar and Flutes until his 16 when he discovered electronic music by a lucky mistake! His sound is a mixture of all that surrounds him, having played in the biggest clubs in Berlin (Katerblau, Sysifos), Brazil, Ibiza and the US. He takes elements of classical music and flashes of Brazilian popular music, managing to make his live set a unique and edgy mix of electronic, caimbó, jazz, samba, regional music, drum machines, but without taking the electronic energy. Little Dinosaur and Timo Granzotti have been leading the California music scene with their eclectic sound for the past decade. Through their music collective HUES, they have been hosting events in LA since 2018. They have played all over the world, from festivals, nightclubs, to the underground dance scene. Recently, they have joined together to bring their vibrant sound as a back-to-back duo.
