Capoeira Angola is a beautiful Afro-Brazilian art form that combines fight, rhythm, movement, music, philosophy, and so much more! Join Nico Zulu of N'golo Preto Velho de Mestre Themba Southern California to learn about the culture, music, and fundamental movement of Capoeira Angola in a fun, engaging, and child-friendly environment. Capoeira is a wonderful form of exercise and introduction to cultural dance and self-defense through play. All backgrounds and experience levels are welcome! This offering is best suited for children ages 7 and up, though younger children are also welcome to attend. - Classes meet in person each Saturday, with location alternating each week between Koehler Park in Fontana and The Garcia Center for the Arts in San Bernardino. The first portion of this workshop is typically dedicated to music, with the second dedicated to physical movement. You are welcome to participate in one or both portions of the workshop. All aspects of class will cater to the students present, offering inclusive training options, no matter your experience level or needs. Please note, this is *not* a drop-off program. Parents and/or caregivers must be physically present throughout the duration of class. - Abundance Exchange: $10 per child. Discounted registration options are available for those who are interested in multi-class passes, wish to pay at a monthly rate, or have multiple children they'd like to register for class(es). - What to Bring: Please come dressed in comfortable attire appropriate for physical activity, wearing closed-toed shoes and a shirt you are able to tuck in.
