Join Rachel in this in person small group intensive to explore the 8 limbs of yoga from Patanjali's yoga sutras. The word Sutra, means thread in Sanskrit. We will explore many of the sutras in Portion 2 of Patanjali's Sutras on Practice. Week 1: The First Limb: The Yamas/Restraints/Ethics: (Ahimsa-Non-harming, Satya-truth, Asteya-Non-Hoarding/Non stealing, Brahmacharya-Harmonize Life force Energy, Aparigraha-Non attachment. Week 2: The Second Limb: The Niyamas/Observances/Personal Practices: Sauca-Purity/Cleaniness, Santosha-Contentment, Tapas-discipline, Svadhyaya-self study, Isvara Pranidhana-Surrender to the Divine. Week 3: The Third and Fourth Limb. Asana and Pranayama (Movement and Breath) Week 4: The Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eightth Limb Yoga of the Subtle Body: Pratyahara (Moving Sensory Awareness from the outer world to the inner), Dharana (Concentration/Focus) Dhyana (Meditation), Samadhi (Integration). Prior to each week's class, participants will be given a reflection with information about the content of the upcoming week with links and options for further reading.
