Experienced drummer and bassist seek guitarist and/or keyboards to join garage/psych covers project. Influences: Nuggets: Artyfacts From The First Psychedelic Era 1965-1968 compilation album. (Pretty much the blueprint for this project.) Also, The Oblivians, Reigning Sound, Compulsive Gamblers, Cosmic Psychos, Stooges/Iggy Pop, The Jesus And Mary Chain, The Kinks, Amyl And The Sniffers, The Monkees, Screaming Blue Messiahs, T-Rex, The Who, Velvet Underground E. City Cobras is NOT a "golden oldies" act. Looking for people to PLAY THIS MUSIC LIKE THEY MEAN IT. Live gigs are a SHOW, so we don't dress like we're about to mow the lawn. We play loud, upbeat, somewhat danceable music about sex, drugs, booze and cars. Our attitude is "you may love us or you may hate us, but you will not ignore us." This isn't background music for coffee houses. Although E. City Cobras isn't a punk band, experience playing guitar or keys in a punk band would be helpful. Bassist is currently primary singer, but if you can sing, that would be a plus. A sense of humor will be useful, too! Must have own transportation. We have a practice space about five miles north of Elizabeth City. Looking to play a couple of Fridays and Saturdays a month.
