Guitarist/Singer-Songwriter Looking for Collaborators

Meets

New York City NY

Description

I am a guitarist and singer-songwriter who recently moved to Brooklyn. I am looking for other musicians to collaborate with. While I am not a professional musician (in that my income does not come from music), I have performed professionally before and am interested in working with other musicians of a professional calibre. I have also written pieces which have been performed by various prominent ensembles. While I like to criss-cross genres, my music is probably most reminiscent of artists like Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Randy Newman, Van Morrison, etc. I also write a lot of jazz songs and play jazz guitar. So, if you have no knowledge whatsoever of music theory, or are intimidated by 13b9 chords, this might not be a good fit for you. I write most of my music in standard notation, as well. In particular, I’m interested in working with: - Vocalists (particularly those comfortable singing jazz, those comfortable with Simon & Garfunkel-esque harmony, or those comfortable singing showtunes). - Guitarists (either lead country/folk/rock guitarists or jazz guitarists looking to play standards) - Pianist/Keyboard Players (particularly those comfortable with jazz/blues/gospel) - Violinists/Cellists (particularly those comfortable playing celtic and folk music) - Horn Players But, if none of those descriptions fit you, and you are still interested in collaborating, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I am not averse to working with an electronic artist, for instance, or a bagpipe player, if I feel that our styles would gel. If any of this appeals to you, send me an email with a brief description of your musical background and few recordings of yourself playing! I may not be able to respond to all inquiries, but if it sounds like we would be a good match I’ll get back to you with some recordings of my own.
