Description
Boone turned 1 on 7/5 and weighs 65 lbs. His breed is unknown but the guess is that he is a shepherd/lab/pit mix and maybe some hound because his bark can sound like a howl. He is neutered and UTD on vaccines. He can be both high and low energy, loves to play fetch and we have recently practiced scent work and he is doing really well. We also recently discovered the Jolly Ball and he gets very excited about it. He is very sweet with my husband and I abut is pushy/rough with our 4 year old, is stranger reactive (he will bark and growl) and reactive to dominant/hyper dogs (he doesn't like to be jumped on) and needs more training/commitment. He can calm down with a game of fetch/chuck it near strangers but takes time to trust people. Boone is in need of an experienced owner with a fenced, secured yard (preferably some acreage) that can help wear him out and commit more 1:1 time with him. He would do best with a single person or couple with infrequent visitors or an area that he can relax in away from visitors. He is crate trained, house trained, muzzle trained and does well in the car. He only ever chews his own toys and doesn't jump on furniture or counters. I do not have the skills and time needed to help him gain confidence and social skills. He deserves more than we can give him.
