SMITHTOWN, NY — Smithtown High School East's Habitat for Humanity Club came up large for the community. The club donated more than $1,200 across multiple organizations and drives to help those in need, according to a news release from the Smithtown Central School District.
The money went to the Smithtown Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk County, Adopt-a-Family, the Interact Club's Thanksgiving Drive and the Smithtown High School East Wall of Heroes.
The wall honors those who have defended freedom in the United States. Honorees will be featured with their name, military portrait, high school graduation year, and branch of service on the wall at Smithtown High School East.
