Doreen Lawrence is a semi-retired entrepreneur with over twenty-five years of senior management experience serving as Executive Director for a non-profit organization, and Director of Human Resources/Affirmative Action for several corporations. Ms. Lawrence is a Lecturer at Suffolk University, and Adjunct Professor at Cape Cod Community College since 2005. She received an Associate’s degree from Leeward Community College in Hawaii; and a Bachelor's and Executive MBA from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts. Ms. Lawrence has conducted grant writing workshops in Australia, Canada, and throughout the United States. In addition to consulting and conducting grant writing workshops, she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship. This workshop provides an introduction to the basic functions of small business management. We will examine how to start a new business, or successfully run your existing business. Topics include detailed discussions about the business environment; forms of business ownership; human resources and cultural diversity; marketing; promotions; finance; and much more. The Agenda will cover the following fifteen critical steps on having a successful small business: Are you ready for Entrepreneurship?
