Different Wrld + Garden Party present an evening film screening and workshop discussion with Legalize Appalachia where we will collectively envision the post-prohibition future of equitable access in Appalachia. Join members of Legalize Appalachia’s founding team at Different Wrld to watch Somewhere Higher, a short film directed by Mohammad Gorjestani that explores a “visual mixtape anthology.” From bodybuilders to moms, more and more people are incorporating c@nnabis into their daily routine for support, which challenges the viewer to reconsider our perceptions of “stoners” and stoner culture. Participants can enjoy a mocktail to unwind as we engage in discussion about the future of cannabis legalization in the Appalachian South. Learn about the impact of Legalize Appalachia’s first 6 months, the organization’s goals and future plans, and ways the community can support the mission. Sliding scale with $5-$20 suggested ticket price. 75% of ticket sales support Legalize Appalachia pilot programs.
