Re re: Solid Lead guitar player (Barnum park West Denver CO)
To the OP. Just a bit of friendly advice. Okay so you and your former guitar player didn't see eye to eye on much of anything. (It doesn't matter who was right, wrong or whatever. I really don't care and I'd wager to say no one else perusing CL does either). People clash sometimes esp in the arts because of it's subjective nature. It happens. But one thing that doesn't take a background in quantum physics or rocket science is, when you come right out of the gate bashing and bad mouthing another individual, and it"s seen by hundreds, if not 1000s of folks, the 1st thing that comes to mind is "Dang. That dude is harsh. If choose to work with this individual, what's to say I won't be on his "hit list" like the guitar player before me"? I'm sure that's not what you intend, but trust me, I've been at it long enough to know, that's how it comes across. Something like "Our last guitar player didn't fit as well as we had hoped" or even "Our former guitar player and the rest of the band just weren't on the same page" still allows for some angst on your part but without sounding harsh. Quite frankly, that's more Professional and it casts you in a more positive light. I'll tell you right now, I've left more than one good paying gig because the band leader was such a horse's behind. And most people I know have and would continue to do the same thing in that situation. No one likes a dictator and no one wants to feel as though they're working with a control freak who talks smack about everyone in their absence.
