For residents and visitors alike, the South Fork's inconsistent cellular coverage is a source of great frustration -- and, for some, a worrisome situation that could be dangerous in an emergency. But proposal for new towers designed to address the problem are regularly rejected by the people who would live in their shadows, for both aesthetic reasons and fear of potential dangers. Are these legitimate concerns? Is there new technology coming to address this? Our panel will discuss, specifically, proposals in Springs and Sag Harbor, though the discussion applies to places where there are "zero bars" all over both towns.
