This four-part consecutive course workshop is designed to enhance the skills level of practicing massage therapist. The goal is to provide techniques, presented in designed sessions, so the participant can either give the complete session, or choose appropriate individual techniques, that enable them to design or strategize their own session according to the client's needs. At the end of the four days, the course will have covered the following body regions: Cranium and Neck; Thorax, Shoulder Girdle, Lumbar Spine, Pelvis and Thigh; and Lower and Upper Extremities. Participants at the end of this course should be able to: Provide myofascial techniques using proper body mechanics, working from their core, not straining joints, applying techniques with a pattern of ease, not stress or force. Learn myofascial techniques for the above-mentioned body regions. Learn listening and visual cues skills the client may be giving, that indicate appropriate and inappropriate application of the techniques, and massage approach. Learn instructional skills to "coach" the client how to become an active participant during the massage session. Learn 10 basic self-care measures that the therapist can suggest to the client, and how to instruct the client how to properly perform the self-care measures. This course is presented in a fun, active learning adventure. We will use corn starch, hula hoop, ball of string, and other activities as learning aids to develop grounded and centering skills that enhance the energy approach that myofascial skills require in order to be effective for the client and therapist alike. So Let Us Have Fun! Dress comfortably. Bring: 1 set of sheets, face cradle cover, and blanket. Massage tables and water provided. (6 CE hours for Massage Therapists. Earl Conner NCBTMB #291388-00).
