Pale moonlight illuminates monstrous, beautiful mansions blanketed by a clear black sky. Still, each one as ominous a haunted house; with walls that echo stories of history, mystery and even tragedy. The Riverside Historic District Tour will take you back in time to places like the Reitz family home with spirit appearances by Edward Reitz, Annie Fellows Johnston (the Penny Lane ghost), Major Albert Rozencranz and more.   The walking tour will regale the district’s history, architecture, prominent residents and even ghost stories and spooky sightings. Tour begins at the First Presbyterian Church and lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Tours depart every 20 minutes from 6-9 p.m. Event ends around 10 p.m. Family-friendly. Comfortable walking shoes, open-imaginations and handholding (if deemed necessary) is encouraged.    FAQs   Is this event held rain or shine? Yes. The tours will be held rain or shine. The tours are held outdoors, so please be prepared for the weather. How far should I be prepared to walk, and how long is the tour? Be prepared to walk 8 blocks on this tour. The tour lasts roughly one hour and fifteen minutes. Warning: There are uneven sidewalks on the tour. Please watch your step. When should I arrive for my tour? Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your designated tour time due to possible check-in lines. Tours will leave promptly at scheduled ticket time. Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? There are no age requirements. This is a family-friendly tour.   What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Street parking is available. Limited parking is also available at across the street from Penny Lane (catercorner from the main entrance of First Presbyterian Church).    What can I bring on the tour? No weapons (real or fake) are allowed on the tour. Please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather, and bring an umbrella if rain is expected.
