Hardy was born in Phoenix, AZ and has lived most of his life in Tucson. He graduated from the University of Arizona college of law in 1975. In 1974, he published the first law review article to argue for an individual rights understanding of the Second Amendment. From 1975 to 1982 he practiced law in Tucson. In 1982 he moved to Falls Church, VA, married and began work with Interior Department's Office of the Solicitor, doing the strangest legal work he had ever handled. In 1992 he returned to Tucson and to private practice (largely spent suing the government.) In 2000, with the late Mike McNulty and reporter Lee Hancock, Hardy played a major role in reopening the Waco issue. His legal writings have been cited twice by the United States Supreme Court and by eleven of the thirteen U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals. David will be discussing the development of Second Amendment interpretation through NY State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen. Hardy filed an amicus brief in that case; one of his law review articles was twice cited in the earlier McDonald v. Chicago ruling, and he is presently writing another law review article on the Bruen case. Dave Croteau lives in Tucson and has run for Mayor of Tucson and Pima County Sheriff. He is working to bring neighborhood protection to Tucson neighborhoods. John Burley: Owning a gun is not enough. John will explain how the USCCA helps responsible Americans like you prepare for what happens before, during, and after an act of lawful self-defense. In addition to offering education and training, the USCCA has purchased an insurance policy that provides the association and it members with self-defense liability insurance.
