Horse looking for retirement home

Hello all, There's a small mare in desperate need of a retirement home. Her owner moved across the country and the situation changed so she can no longer afford care for her horse. I am helping her find a new home for the sweet girl. Bess is a 20 year old mare on the small side and no mare-ish problems to be seen, sweet as can be. She would do best with another horse as a companion as she is herdbound but low on the pecking order. She comes when you call and is one of the first to greet you at the gate. Loves treats, comes running when she sees her brushes, and bum scratches are her favorite! She suffered an injury several years ago and only has one eye and is said to be possibly lame but unsure of if thats true. But thats why I'm saying she would do best in a retirement home. She still ponies kids like a champ and hasen't shown any discomfort thus far with kids and small adults. No other health issues whatsoever. She is registered and we have her papers in hand, vet records for her eye removal in hand as well as some basic vet records. She was bred at least twice in the past having two healthy foals. Shes an easy keeper fed valley grass hay and grain in the winter. Easy on fences, stands for the farrier, trailers well, broke to ride but has only done kids riding or ponied on trails the last few years. She is up to date on dewormer but unsure of shots or teeth. Shes used to dogs, goats, chickens, and cats running around and under her with no problems. Bess really just needs a home or rescue with someone who can let her live out her days. She would make a fantastic pasture pet or companion to another horse friend. I adopted the owners other elderly horse but can't afford to keep Bess otherwise I would. Shes such a sweet girl.
