Help!   I'm in need of a "rent a spouse" (or several) to help me finish a bunch of tasks around our new home in El Cerrito. I have some physical disabilities that limit my ability to do any heavy lifting. ** We really need help moving furniture from our rental house to our new home including many plants. Pay for moving is $20/hr.) If you have a large pick up truck, that is a huge bonus and we will pay you a mileage allowance in addition to your hourly pay. ** Some of the general labor tasks include the following: - Installing Allen & Roth closet kit in coat closet - Installing Closet Maid organization system in walk-in closet and reach-in closet in master bedroom - Install shelving and clothes rod in 2 closets - Cleaning windows, wiping down kitchen cabinet shelves and drawers, polishing floors - just general move-in cleaning - Repainting a wall or piece of furniture - Assembling furniture like beds and rearranging furniture and putting it in place - Painting linen closet - Installing kitchen/bathroom cabinet handles - Hanging window treatments - Hanging pictures, mirrors, art work etc. - Decorative tiling above our fireplace - Staining fence - Potting planters with succulents - Creating simple water feature from a pot (youtube instructions provided) - Weeding and tilling the soil - Digging holes in the front yard and putting potted plants in the ground (experience with installing a drip irrigation system would be excellent) Basically, I'm looking for an enthusiastic DIYer who will help me check things off my to-do list so we can feel more moved into our new home.  Hours can be super flexible but we are hoping to get a lot done soon as soon as possible. I know your time is worth more than $15 an hour. (Although it is the equivalent of paying $24-25 if I paid you as an independent contractor and declared your wages on a 1099 tax form because at least one third of your taxes would go towards self-employment, state and federal income taxes). I honestly wish we could pay you more but we are literally cash strapped and living on credit cards and a loan right now until we can get into our house to refinance and borrow against the equity in our house. Compensation is firm because we can only afford what we are offering. I'm in El Cerrito about 5 minutes from Madera Elementary School. We are searching for some friendly team players who are on time, dependable, honest, and willing to work hard and or learn some new skills. I'm pretty flexible so you can work as few or as many hours as you're available. I pay people cash daily.
