Description
Pardon the long-winded post, but here goes…
I’m a vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter that is hoping to stumble upon a creative bassist and drummer to embark on the odyssey of a new project with me.
About me: I’m 36, been in the songwriter game nearly 20 years. I have a healthy catalog of material on the ready. I try to not be bogged down writing in any one style. I have stuff that bends indie, alternative, folk, blues and everyone once in awhile a jazz vibe slithers it’s way in. But it all fits into an alt rock pocket, if that even makes any sense.
I’d like to work with musicians that want to introduce their own style and influence to the group. I’m not one to try to dictate what my bandmates play as long as it’s a good groove and fits the material.
Ideally looking for folks in my age range late 20s-30s. I apologize if that comes off ageist but I’ve found in my trials and tribulations that things tend to flow better within my own generation.
A cliff notes of bands/artists I’m inspired by:
Big Thief, the Replacements, Elliott Smith, the Shins, Radiohead, the National, TV on the Radio, Beauty Pill, Television, Pixies, Fugazi, Modest Mouse, Vampire Weekend, Q and not U, Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes
… and a large swath of the obligatory rock acts from the 60s and early 70s (et al. Dylan, Beatles, Hendrix, Neil Young, Bowie, Stones, Stooges, Zeppelin)
Hopefully, by now, I hope I haven’t exhausted you too much and you find it worthwhile to take a shot and respond.
And I do have some demos to share if you reach out.
