MEDIUM/HEAVY TRUCK & TRAILER MECHANIC ASSISTANT Road Hog Repair is looking for an assistant mechanic. Willing to train serious applicants only. Assistant will ride along with a licensed medium/heavy mechanic until it is determined that the assistant is ready to handle fieldwork alone. Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license. Primarily Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with some scheduled work on the weekends. JOB DESCRIPTION: This role will involve heavy lifting and working outdoors in all weather conditions. Work as a professional, upholding the standards of best practice at all times. Assist Maintenance technicians Will Assist with or perform all basic maintenance (oil changes, inspections). Check vehicles for worn parts Strip and assemble equipment Repairing equipment Ability in the safe operation and care of vehicles Travel to field sites as necessary to maintain and operate vehicles and equipment, provide logistical support, assist with tool management and project site instruction, and help ensure the safety and quality of our work. Ability in the safe operation and care of vehicles Mechanical fundamentals/Mechanically inclined Be health and safety conscious, customer focused, and communicate effectively with customer's and staff. Must be willing to learn Must be willing to learn the effective and safe use and the proper care of the tools, equipment and materials used in the work. Must be able to learn the safety rules and practices required for their own and fellow worker safety on the job. Required: Diploma from a High School or technical/vocational school, valid driver's license Please list any licenses or certifications: ASE, DOT, Technical School Primarily Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm, some scheduled work on the weekends.
