Job duties include: Building wooden canvas stretchers and custom frames. Stretching artist canvases and cutting mats for prints. Due to the height of the work tables and to operate equipment, candidate must meet a minimum height requirement of 5’9”. Must be able to lift 40 pounds, work while standing for hours at a time and to use power tools. Someone with fine carpentry skills would take to this work very quickly, but training can be offered for the right candidate. It is a relaxed art studio/workshop environment, however you should be a very conscientious hard-worker and have the ability to commit to one day per week consistently. If you produce excellent craftsmanship and work efficiently, there is the potential to make much more than $15 an hour.
