Seeking Thoughtful Drummer for Originals

Bassist, vocalist/keys, and guitarist seeking hobby drummer of like mind. We are all career professsionals and hold day jobs accordingly. We will continue to hone and craft very good original songs and lyrics once a week at vocalists home basement studio. Decibel level will be sufficient, but not seismic (think electric drum set and no sound proofing). We can talk about getting a bigger electric set down the line. For now, an acceptable Carlsbro CSD130XXXCRL compact electric set with drum speaker. There will be a family with kids upstairs with a wife who is tolerant, welcoming, encouraging within reason. We have little interest in covers unless they function as an ephemeral catalyst for the former. A solid drummer is the next step in forming the band. We’re looking for someone trustworthy (not off their rocker on drugs and drama) but who does like to rock out and blow off some steam once a week; to build some quality relationships and friendships with other band mates and build upon an established, original sonic vision. Drummer must be thoughtful in nature and must have great interest in actively creating something from nothing in terms of the creative process. We’re looking for a drummer that is not just laying a beat, but rather providing another layer that juxtaposes or augments what is going on. The ability to give a “short sharp shock” (reference to the anonymous bloke in Pink Floyd’s Us and Them); or the inclination when to bend the sound like Matt Cameron’s work in Down On The Upside, Soundgarden. We’re not looking to oust Neil Peart from his eternal throne of intricacy and precision or rival the explosive war-like power of Bonham’s playing. We will not be playing out weekly or quitting our day jobs and family commitments to hit the road doing covers and watching garters chucked into the air by drunk brides above fat and ecstatic, stumbling bridesmaids. Bring your creativity, ideas, manners and life experience and we’ll build something, get to know one another and have fun.
