Lady Buggs will share the joys and safety to urban foraging from her personal and researched experiences. Urban foraging is a way for people to get out into local green spaces and parks to better learn the importance of native and evasive plant species. It’s also a way for garden and foodie enthusiasts to discover what plants are suitable for wildcrafting.
Lady Buggs will share literature, field guides and plant apps that will support a beginner's journey to urban foraging. As we slowly adjust to climate change and potentially an ongoing pandemic, outdoor activity is a way of adding both healthy mental and physical exercise to people's lifestyles.
This foraging class will be presented twice in the Fall. It will be an in-person hike at two separate locations in Trumbull. The class is designed for people who can handle a slow passed gentle hike in a woodland space. Participants will need to sign a basic waiver. Participants are responsible for bringing their own water and hiking gear.
