DEEP HOUSE MUSIC LOVERS
Meets
Fort Myers FL
Description
I know this may be a stretch considering everyone is recuperating from Ian and house music lovers are few and far between. I figured I'd give this a shot anyway. If you love 4/4 beats and dance music that is NOT categorized as EDM, then hit me up. Would love to find people of all ages/backgrounds/identities to geek out about deep/classic house/tech/jungle/electro etc. You spin? Awesome. You produce? Sweet. Burner? Audiophile? Gear geek? Right on. Grew up raving and now too old to stay up past 10pm? Nice. Same here. We should hang. Not looking to "party" or be up all night with the assistance of substances. I'm not even looking to hook-up with anyone. Ideally, a monthly daytime/sunset get-together would be fun. I will say that the dance floor community has always treated me well but I haven't found it here yet. That's what I'm looking for. A personality type. Maybe it doesn't exist here but I doubt that. Maybe it doesn't exist cause no one has tried to rally everyone together. Either way, if this resonates with you, then we're probably in the same boat and don't even know it. I know there's gotta be at least one other person out there who feels the same. Let's link up. About me: 40yo guy who grew up on the dance floors of San Francisco and Detroit's underground parties and after hours. I DJ'd for a while but lately my gear has been collecting dust. Still writing and producing music. Not big on the top 40 remixes most bars/clubs play. I hardly go out anymore. My parents retired in Fort Myers so I relocated here to help them out and be closer. Then the pandemic fk'd everything up. And then we got washed out by a giant surge of water. Suffice to say, it's been slow finding friends or even a sense of community here in SWFL. I mean, I have friends and a community here but damn. Finding people I can just share music and vibe with has been...slow. Honestly, I haven't really tried looking yet so I take responsibility for that. This post is me trying for the first time, I guess. "Listen. You have to go to Tampa/Miami/Orlando to find that." No. Fk that. I'm not trying to drive 2 hours just to listen to some music I like with other people. Let's start something here. Even if it's just me and one other person. I'm craving something I know at least one other person is looking for. Again, I'm aware everyone is waiting for the dust to settle after the hurricane. I get it. But if you're bored and miss a scene that seems to be absent in this part of the state, then know that I'm here looking for you too.
