Drill Operator/ Locator
Seeking a Drill Operator and a Locator with experience operating Ditch Witch HDD and Subsite locator. We are a fast growing company performing underground utilities installations in the Puget Sound, with opportunity for advancement and with competitive compensation.
Qualifications
CDL Class A license.
Positive Attitude.
Ability to understand and do simple math.
Ability to do some maintenance of drill equipment and mixing unit.
Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less with the ability to judge distance and space relationships.
Ability to identify and distinguish colors of utility flags and markings on the ground.
Good written and verbal communication skills. The
Must be able to bend and carry up to 50 pounds, lift up 100 lbs to waist and 50 lbs above your shoulders.
Organized and detail oriented.
Basic Inventory skills.
Ability to learn and decipher hand gestures.
A team player that wants to learn a craft and be successful.
Responsibilities
The Drill Operator is responsible for operating the HDD and the Locator is responsible for locating the drill head.
Both positions are responsible for preparing the job site, potholing utilities with a vacuum excavator, and preparing the drill so that the shot can be performed safely.
Hook up swivel, reamer, and pipe product that will be pulled back to complete the bore shot.
Before the bore shot is started, walk out bore shot to ensure all utilities have been accounted for and located.
This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, twisting, and working in cramped and confined spaces. At times you will be working in dirty and sometimes greasy or oily conditions.
Willingness to work in the elements all year and in both high and low temperatures.
