Position Announcement Job Description: Lift Maintenance Manager Reports To: Director of Mountain Operations Pay: $72,800 - $83,200 DOE Summary: Responsible for maintenance of all lift equipment, winter and summer. The Lift Maintenance Manager will maintain, troubleshoot and repair fixed grip aerial lifts and surface lifts. Preventative and routine maintenance is performed year-round in changing and extreme weather conditions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ∙ Perform lift start-up procedure on assigned lifts prior to arrival of Lift Operations staff ∙ Competently prepare our fixed grip aerial tramways for non-destructive testing (NDT) ∙ Competent in all areas of lift maintenance needs ∙ Respond to calls from Lift Operations and Ski Patrol in a timely and safe manner ∙ Use of complex problem solving to determine equipment and time needed to address problems ∙ Maintain a positive attitude, including during high stress situations ∙ Able to work together with all Magic staff in high operational tempo situations ∙ Responsible for accurate tracking of all worked performed ∙ Responsible for preparing lifts for annual inspection ∙ Assist with other aspects of mountain operations as needed ∙ Manage lift operations staff during ski season ∙ Prepare annual lift repair/ maintenance budgets ∙ Oversee all third party lift contractor projects ∙ Monitoring all operational lifts to prevent failures/ downtime ∙ Responsible for yearly preventative maintenance on all aerial and surface lifts ∙ Working with the Vermont State lift inspector to ensure all lifts remain compliant Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has direct supervision over all aspects of lift maintenance. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess and demonstrate mechanical aptitude and complex problem solving. In addition: · A valid Driver’s License · An in-depth knowledge of fixed grip and surface lift operations · Consistent Reliability · The ability to lead others under pressure Level III Certification Education and Experience: A High School Diploma or equivalent AND a minimum of three years progressive experience with aerial tramway maintenance is required. Previous experience with the operation of heavy equipment is a plus (telehandlers, skid-steer, loader etc.). Formal education in a mechanical or electrical field is also a plus. Previous experience with snowmobile and ATV\UTV safety and operations. Physical Demands: The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds (Chairs and rigging equipment can weigh up to 100lbs). Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, use ladders, and work at variable heights (15-65 ft above ground). Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role. Work Conditions: Conditions may change rapidly on the Mountain. Magic Mountain will provide you with a cold weather uniform jacket and microspikes. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The lift equipment is loud, especially in the machine rooms. Use of impact wrenches is common. To mitigate these loud areas, hearing protection is also issued and there are hearing protection stations placed throughout the lift areas and other mountain operations work facilities.
