Directional Bore and Heavy Equipment Operator Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance – 100% Employer Paid Health Insurance for each Team Member Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short Term & Long-Term Disability available Paid time off Full Job Description Responsibilities: • Operate Horizontal Directional Drill – Bore Rig • Assist in potholing and remediation • Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie ins • Drive equipment to job site • Confirms with locator/lead the bore path to drill • Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks, and grounding the machine • Drill out following the predetermined drill path to the exit pit • Conduct post-job quality checks • Clean, check fluid levels and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post-trip inspections and the required paperwork, and perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment. • Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required paperwork (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, etc.) • Follows specifications for the job and company policies • Complies with safety procedures while driving and at job site • Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work • Will be required to perform regular Highway Construction Worker Duties as determined by supervisor when not operating boring machine Requirements: Position Qualifications: • 2+ years of demonstrated Horizontal Directional Drilling experience • Strong knowledge of underground utilities • Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications) • Understanding of client and company work specifications • Ability to comply with the “Operator’s Manual” for your equipment • Ability to read and comprehend and follow all quality/safety policies and procedures • Self-motivated, safety, quality, and production minded • Maintain valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) • Ability to work in all types of weather • Knowledge of underground pot holing preferred • Self-motivated, safety, quality, and production minded Prerequisites: • Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screen. • Must be able to pass background and pre-employment physical Desoto County Electric, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer
