Description
Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents are completed accurately and in a timely fashion. Communicates with warehouse staff, creating pull-order paperwork and labels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment both incoming and outgoing
Records shipment data, including weight, charges and space availability
Help manage receiving schedule of inbound shipments for vendors
Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting and record-keeping purposes.
Completes shipping and receiving reports
Must account for sealed trailers upon arrival and departure
Using a warehouse management system (WMS) prepare accurate bills of lading for outbound freight.
Ensures that drivers depart with appropriate paperwork
Liaison between Warehouse and Office Staff
Other clerical duties maybe assigned
Qualifications
Education: HS Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1-2 years previous warehouse experience. Pallet jack and/or forklift experience a plus, but not necessary
Communication: Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Proven ability to communicate effectively and positively with customers, vendors and employees.
Computer: Proficiency with Microsoft Office & related spreadsheet and database software
Other Qualifications: Demonstrated attendance reliability. Must be organized, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Working conditions
The IECS Shipping and Receiving Associate will be working in a cold storage warehouse environment that can at times reach -10 degrees temperature for long periods of time.
Physical requirements
Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs.
Ability stand 100% of working shift if required by job responsibilities
