To: All Florida Tennis Players USTA Level 6 Mixed Doubles Tournament at Feather Sound Country Club, November 4th, 5th, and 6th Good day, Tennis Players! My name is German Otero, Director of Tennis at Feather Sound Country Club, located in Clearwater, Florida. Later this year, we will be hosting our 2022 USTA Fall Mixed Doubles Tournament on November 4th through 6th. It will be a Level 6 USTA event. Recently, Feather Sound Country Club has undergone beautiful new renovations to our tennis facility, and we would like to welcome all of you to come out and participate in our mixed doubles tournament, to be played on some of the best new clay (Har-Tru) courts in Florida! The Tournament divisions are: NTRP Mixed Doubles 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5. All players must be 18 years of age & over. Please note that you must be a registered member of the USTA to enter the tournament. Teams must consist of players within 0.5 NTRP Rating Points of one another (ex. Player 1 is rated 3.0, Player 2 must be rated either 2.5, or 3.5). In addition, if a team has players of two different levels (ex. Player 1 is 4.0, Player 2 is 3.5), then the team MUST register at 4.0, the higher of the two levels. The matches will be “Best of 3” sets, with a Champion’s 10-point tie-break (first to 10 points, by 2) in lieu of a 3rd set. The first two sets will be standard sets, first to 6 games by 2, at 6-all you will play a standard tie-break (first to 7, by 2). There will be a Consolation Draw for the loser of the first-round matches. A new can of tennis balls will be provided for each match. All registered tournament players are permitted a 1-hour practice at our facility on October 27th or October 28th to get used to the playing conditions. Reservations MUST be made beforehand with our Tennis Pro Shop. Call to set your reservations. Please, do not just “show up” for practice. That will not be allowed. We have tennis members that regularly use these courts. All registered tournament players will receive a 20% off coupon for any racquet stringing, gripping, or customization, should they have need of those services during the tournament. Our Tennis Pro Shop Manager, Chris De Tone, is a professionally certified USRSA Technician. His services will be available to you.
