Description

Downtown Everett's historic buildings are a core part of our neighborhood's identity; they tell the stories of our past and host the businesses that are shaping our future. Preserving our places is beneficial for everyone. With that in mind - do you know how to properly maintain your historic brick building? We invite all downtown businesses, property managers, and owners (especially those who own and/or care for masonry buildings) to attend our Historic Masonry Walking Tour on Friday, October 14 at 4 p.m. Architect Steve Waite, an internationally-renowned expert in historic brick and stone masonry, will show examples of masonry in various conditions and provide information about preserving your historic buildings. We'll begin outside the Catholic Community Services building at 1918 Everett Ave and head towards Hewitt from there. The tour will end with an optional happy hour at 6 p.m., giving you an opportunity to mingle with your neighbors and ask Steve questions. Special thanks to the volunteers on our Design Committee for coordinating this opportunity! This project is funded by a Snohomish County Historic Preservation Grant through the Snohomish County Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
