Her passion for working with children brought her to the Bridgeport Public Schools, where she taught both general education and art education. In 2021 she left public to follow a dream to open a studio space. Lori rented a space at the Nest Arts Factory and began the journey of teaching in studio 33. Lori's mission is to reach as many people as possible and give them a safe place to create and explore new materials without any judgment. Lori has a BFA from Purchase College, and a Master’s Degree in both general education and art education from Sacred Heart University. In her early years she worked as a mural artist. Her murals can be found in homes and offices in the tri-state area. Currently she can be found in her studio creating mixed media pieces, paper flowers and teaching classes. She can be found on social media at Bloomingcolorsart.com or @bloomingcolorsart. 🎨 @bloomingcolorsart Our Story | The Studio Since 2015, The RiseUP Group, Inc. has been painting murals and creating public art throughout Connecticut. As RiseUP's pipeline of projects grew in 2021, we quickly realized we needed a creative space to call our own. Throughout 2021we were borrowing studio space, had no central location for our tools and supplies, and our artists wanted to begin hosting their own workshops and exhibitions. We began looking for a space in Hartford, CT and the birth of The Studio CT happened at the historic Dirt Salon on April 1, 2022 in the Parkville neighborhood with artists Michael Rice and Julie Bergeron. Since opening our Hartford location, we soon found ourselves partnering up with artists Lori Bloom and Camille Enkeboll to launch The Studio at the NEST in Bridgeport, CT. The Studio CT is currently operating thanks to grants. Grants and donations help to keep ours workshops, memberships, and exhibition space low to no costs for artists.
